ALPIN8 Everesting 2025 - Pushing boundaries in Brandnertal (review)

Our second ALPIN8 Everesting event took place in beautiful Brandnertal on the first weekend in July - and it was nothing less than an intense, emotional, thrilling weekend that inspired us all.

What is Everesting actually?

Everesting is about cycling or running up an ascent as many times as it takes to reach the height of Mount Everest: 8,848 vertical meters. In the case of ALPIN8 Everesting, this is not a competition – it’s all about challenging yourself and going beyond your own limits. In Brandnertal, the Everesting requires 17 ascents of 530 vertical meters each. At the end, you have to cover a distance of around 70 kilometers in addition to the metres in altitude. An incredible challenge for body and mind.

220 participants. 165 have made it. But: Everyone is a winner!

220 participants took part in this year’s race. Everyone gathered at the Palüdbahn valley station at 05:00 in the morning. It was still almost dark, headlamps illuminated the parking lot. The atmosphere: tense, nervous, but also full of anticipation. After a short speech by Flores and Saskia, we started the countdown together: the 34 hours to make it to our personal Mount Everest were now up!

The special thing about ALPIN8 Everesting:
It is not important whether you have reached the 8,848 vertical meters.
Every single vertical meter counts.
Each of you is a winner.
You can be proud of what you have achieved – whether 3,000, 6,000 or even 8,848 vertical meters.

No race. No ego. One goal.

What makes us different? We are not a race. ALPIN8 is not about winning, but about working together. Our motto: One team. One goal. One mountain.

The exchange with you participants is the most valuable thing for us. And when strangers cross the finish line together at the end, pushing and celebrating each other – then we know we’re doing everything right.

You have fought. Carried yourself up the mountain step by step. Sometimes you were frustrated, sometimes demotivated, sometimes on a runner’s high. No matter how you felt inside, the mood was always great! We noticed that and you noticed that. And although a heavy rain shower soaked everything for a short time – you did not let yourselves be stopped. This is exactly the ALPIN8 spirit!

Catering, weather, atmosphere – everything on point.

There was one big change compared to last year: we cooked for you ourselves at the Summit Camp! There was a pasta bowl, a rice bowl, potato soup and lots of different snacks to keep you happy and energized. Thanks to our partners and sponsors, the food was varied, colorful and delicious. Many thanks for that!

The weather also played along perfectly this year – sun, clouds, not too hot, simply ideal for this type of challenge.

One story that stays: Sebastian.

A total of 165 of you 220 starters completed the 8848 vertical meters. That corresponds to a finisher rate of 75%! A very special highlight was the arrival of Sebastian, who fought his way to the top in 33 hours without sleep. Shortly before the end of the race, he ran through the avenue of flags, carried by all of you who had been waiting for him at the top. His finish at the Summit Camp was a goosebump moment for everyone. Standing ovations – and fully deserved.

And even if you didn’t quite manage the 8848 vertical meters: You have achieved great things! You pushed yourselves, ran “higher” than ever before in one day and gave everything you had in you that day. That’s what it’s all about: setting yourself a goal and giving it your all. If it works out in the end, great! And even if it doesn’t, you can be more than proud of yourselves because you gave it your all!

Carry this feeling with you.

We hope you remember this spirit for a long time to come.
Carry this feeling with you – this knowledge that you can achieve almost anything if you set yourself a goal and give it your all.

Thank you for being there. Thank you for making ALPIN8 what it is.

See you next year – with even more altitude meters, heart and team spirit. 💙
